Beyond the Paradox is an exciting new album that showcases the rich, expressive possibilities of the tenor horn. Made up entirely of brand-new compositions by acclaimed composers like Thierry Deleruyelle, Bert Appermont, Christopher Bond and Edward Gregson, among other well-known names.

The music explores the full emotional and technical range of the instrument, giving it the spotlight in a way that’s rarely seen in brass band music. From stirring, virtuosic solos to deeply expressive, lyrical passages this album demonstrates the tenor horn in a whole new light.

Every piece on this album plays its part to create the perfect flow, exploring different thematic ideas and musical intentions but all focussed on showcasing Tim De Maeseneer’s extraordinary playing.

The centrepiece of the album is surely the brand-new Tenor Horn Concerto (Three Gods) by Edward Gregson. This is sure to become a landmark in the tenor horn repertoire.
